On 21 April , he [Laing] was admitted to the 6th Canadian Field Ambulance suffering from exhaustion. The next da, the diagnosis changed to “shell shock” and he went to No. 12 Casualty Clearing Station where he remained until 6 May, when he rejoined the Battalion.
