Brother to Charles H. Dickson of the 18th Battalion.

Notes:  Attestation papers on web at LAC show his rank as a captain. The attestation papers have a notation on the as a ‘lieut.’ and the 18th Battalion Nominal Roll (1915) has his rank as a Lance-Sergeant.

Further, the following quotation was found at (SOURCE):

“Sergeant Dickson of the 18th Battalion Canadian Infantry was, until enlistment, a pastor at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Cleveland City, Ohio and was invited to lead a service from the pulpit in the Grace Hill Wesleyan Church, Folkestone.”

Later served as a Y.M.C.A representative for the 3rd Brigade achieving the rank of Honourary Captain.
