PTE. J. HOPE DEAD.

On Christmas Day Private John Hope was reported wounded. To-day’s list contains his name amoung those who are dead of wounds. Pte. Hope enlisted and went overseas with the 124th Battalion, but was transferred to another unit.

He was born in England 33 years ago. Before enlisting he resided at 57 Mutual street.

“Died of Wounds” While in a working party in the support trenches near Lens on December 19th, 1916, he was severely wounded in the legs and arms by shrapnel from an enemy shell. His wounds were dressed and he was taken to No. 6 Casualty Clearing Station where he died two days later.
